Crime Scene Reconstruction & Civil Rights Violations Investigations

Crime Scene Reconstruction & Civil Rights Violations Investigations

Crime scene reconstruction provides a crucial understanding about events surrounding a crime. It is a discipline our investigators are trained and have decades of experience in. By reconstructing a crime scene, we assist in unraveling what could and could not have happened in the commission of a crime, and work towards the ultimate goal of solving the crime or investigating a civil rights violation so that justice may be delivered.

Based out of Atlanta, GA, our services are available throughout the East Coast and nationwide. To learn more information or for a free consultation and review of your case, call us at 404-453-7296 or contact us online.

What Does Crime Scene Reconstruction Involve?

To put it simply, crime reconstruction involves data collection, conjecture, hypothesis formulation, testing, and theory formation. The primary goal of this investigation is to determine if and how a crime took place, the parties involved, and any other relevant information.

Data collection is the first step where all information from the crime scene, victims, and witnesses is documented. Obvious patterns and impressions are also documented. The information is organized and reviewed, and consulted during the investigation. Before analyzing the evidence, investigators present possible theories of events of the crime.

Based on the physical evidence and data collected, investigators make an educated guess regarding the probable cause of events. Further testing is used to confirm or disprove the hypothesis. Samples collected from the crime scene are compared using chemical testing and other laboratory work.

During the investigation, any new information may be discovered about the victim, suspect, or activities of those involved in the crime, and other circumstances surrounding the event. All the information, including witness accounts, is tested and verified, and the most plausible occurrences determined.

What Is Our Experience In Crime Reconstruction?

Crime Scene Reconstruction Investigations in Atlanta, GA

When conducting investigations for civil rights violations and criminal cases, our private investigators rely on extensive expertise and experience including:

  • Shooting incident reconstruction: We trace the trajectory of bullets to determine the possible positions of the victim’s body at the time of a shooting, the shooter’s position, and the angle of impact on intervening objects. We stitch trajectories to trace the path of a bullet and identify the origin of the gunshot. We also consider bullet impact patterns and cartridge case ejection patterns to add to our findings.
  • Evidence review: We have extensive experience reviewing the physical aspects and evidence of the crime, which include the physical layout of the space. We also review evidence such as firearms and clothing that can contain biological evidence such as blood or other bodily fluids and trace evidence such as hair, gunshot wounds, glass, and more.
  • Bloodstain pattern analysis: The interpretation of bloodstains at a crime scene helps to recreate the actions that caused the bloodshed. It can corroborate the use of other physical evidence and indicate important information such as the type and velocity of weapon used, the position of the assailant and victim, and types of injuries, among other details.
